Lady Helen Eno Obareki Hosts PWDs, Encourages Them to Thrive<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a heartwarming show of inclusion, the Patience Umo Eno Golden Initiative for All (GIFA) welcomed a cross section of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) community on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the Women Development Centre, Uyo. The event, themed \u201cLean on Me,\u201d is part of GIFA\u2019s preparations for its second anniversary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lady Helen Eno Obareki, Chairman of GIFA\u2019s Board of Trustees, reaffirmed the organisation\u2019s commitment to ensuring PWDs are not left behind, saying, \u201cWe don\u2019t want you to just survive, we want you to thrive.\u201d She described the gathering as a fulfillment of her late mother\u2019s vision to create opportunities and hope for the most vulnerable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The outreach combined motivational talks, health support, and empowerment opportunities. Highlighting GIFA\u2019s dedication to PWDs, two GIFA ICON awards for small business owners are specifically reserved for them, encouraging participation and recognition of their talents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Guest speaker Chris Vic inspired attendees to focus on their abilities, while partners provided practical support, including food items and mobility aids. Music, dance, and games added to the uplifting and celebratory atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
