The Golden Initiative For All (GIFA) has extended support to multiple birth families in Akwa Ibom State with baby and mother care packages, as well as cash assistance, to help ease the demands of raising twins, triplets, and other multiples.
Speaking at the empowerment programme held at the Banquet Hall of Government House, Uyo, the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady and Chairperson of GIFA’s Board of Trustees, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, described the gesture as part of activities marking GIFA’s second anniversary and commemorating the posthumous birthday of Pastor Patience Umo Eno on February 20, 2026.
She acknowledged the physical, emotional, and financial responsibilities that come with raising multiple children and reassured beneficiaries of GIFA’s continued support. Parents were encouraged to explore sustainable means of livelihood to better provide for their families.
Health experts also emphasised the importance of proper nutrition, postnatal care, and exclusive breastfeeding for the well-being of both mothers and babies.
The event ended on a joyful note as families received their care packages and cash gifts, while the Asian Idem cultural troupe entertained guests and beneficiaries.
