Gifa Impacts 53,987 Lives In Two Years, Unveils Bold Digital Future For Women 

The Patience Umo Eno Golden Initiative For All (GIFA) has recorded a remarkable milestone—impacting 53,987 lives across Akwa Ibom State in just two years. 

This was announced by the Board of Trustees Chairman and Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, during GIFA’s second anniversary celebration held on February 20, 2026, at Ibom Hall, Uyo. The event also marked the posthumous birthday of the initiative’s founder, Pastor Patience Umo Eno. 

Highlighting steady progress across GIFA’s eight thematic areas, Lady Obareki reaffirmed the organisation’s unwavering commitment to uplifting families and vulnerable populations across the state. 

Key Impact Highlights (2024–2026) 

  • 9,776 mothers and children reached through maternal and child healthcare interventions 
  • 19,587 adults and pupils impacted through literacy and learning programmes 
  • 5,064 women economically empowered 
  • 4,900 rural residents treated during Wheels of Hope medical outreaches 
  • 10,800 senior citizens supported 
  • 160 persons with disabilities assisted 
  • 1,020 survivors of gender-based violence rehabilitated 
  • 13 boreholes delivered to rural communities 

Launching the Future: Tech-Empowerment Accelerator 

In a bold move toward digital inclusion, GIFA announced plans to launch a year-round Tech-Empowerment Accelerator, designed to equip 500 Akwa Ibom women annually with hands-on expertise in Software Development, Data Analytics, and Digital Innovation. The programme will provide mentorship and internship pathways, positioning women as key drivers of the state’s emerging digital economy. 

Government Partnership to Expand Water Access 

In his remarks, Governor Umo Eno commended Lady Helen Obareki for sustaining and expanding the vision of Pastor Patience Umo Eno. He further announced a strategic partnership between the Akwa Ibom State Government and GIFA to provide water in all 369 wards of the state through the Water-of-Life Project within the next year. 

Celebrating Impact and Community 

The anniversary celebration featured goodwill messages, cultural performances, empowerment of item distribution, and cash awards to outstanding beneficiaries and competition winners. 

Two years on, GIFA continues to demonstrate that compassionate leadership, strategic partnerships, and focused intervention can transform lives at scale.
