LADY OBAREKI MARKS INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR EDUCATION WITH READING SESSION IN UYO

To commemorate the 2026 International Day for Education, the Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, held a special reading session with pupils of St. John Paul Montessori School, Shelter Afrique, Uyo.

During the session in the school library, Lady Obareki, who also serves as Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Golden Initiative For All (GIFA), read “The Fisherman and the Golden Fish” to the pre-schoolers, encouraging a love for reading while supporting their language and cognitive development.

The visit featured an interactive question-and-answer segment and the presentation of gifts to the pupils. In appreciation, the children, represented by Little Miss Treasure Emmason, presented gifts to Lady Obareki.

GIFA, a pet project of the Office of the First Lady, continues to promote education from infancy to adulthood through its “Enhancing Literacy and Learning” thematic focus.
