As part of events marking its second anniversary, the Patience Umo Eno Golden Initiative For All (GIFA) on February 8, 2026, organised a friendly football match between the Commissioners and Special Advisers’ Wives Association (COSAWA) and the Association of Local Governments Vice Chairmen (ALGOVC) at the Uyo Township Stadium.
Speaking at the event, the Coordinator, Office of the First Lady and Chairman, Board of Trustees of GIFA, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, explained that the match was aimed at promoting unity, wellness, and stronger collaboration among partners and stakeholders. She described the game as exciting and enjoyable, and congratulated COSAWA on their 1:0 victory in the friendly encounter.
Lady Obareki added that the friendly match, introduced during GIFA’s first anniversary, has now become a yearly tradition to celebrate the organisation’s milestones. She thanked the teams, partners, and supporters for their participation and announced that prizes would be presented at the main anniversary celebration scheduled for February 20, 2026, at Ibom Hall.
The event attracted dignitaries and supporters who came out to cheer both teams in a spirit of unity and celebration.
