The Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), led by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has given ₦200,000 each to 250 elderly citizens in Akwa Ibom State as part of the second edition of the RHI Elderly Support Scheme. This program provides financial assistance and medical checks to elderly citizens annually across the country. The event, held on December 17, 2024, at Ibom Hall, also featured an increase in the grant from ₦100,000 to ₦200,000 to support the elderly during the festive season. Mrs. Helen Eno Obareki, representing the First Lady, encouraged beneficiaries to prioritize their health and well-being. The program also highlighted the “Arise Home Farms” initiative, offering a chance to win ₦500,000 for elderly citizens who submit a video of their home farms.
